ATTENDANCE POLICY

Daily attendance is required of all students. New York State law requires that every child of school age attend school if s/he is mentally and physically able. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) (guardian) to see that their child is in daily attendance and punctual.

If your child is ill or must be absent, please call (716) 694-7697 before 8:40 a.m. Follow the directions on the answering machine and leave the appropriate information. If you do not report your child’s absence, the school nurse will call you. By calling you, we know your child is safe at home.

On the day your child returns to school after an absence, the child must bring a written excuse that contains the following information:

Child’s Name
Date(s) child was absent
Reason for Absence
Parent’s Signature
Teacher name and room number

Students who are tardy (arrive after 8:50 a.m.) must report to the office. You will be asked to write an excuse for the tardiness. IMPORTANT: Your child should come to school late rather than not at all.
