Congratulations to Tonawanda Middle School Physical Education teacher, Trevor Pray, on his recent induction into the 2024 Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Kenmore East!
While at Ken East, the Class of 2016 graduate excelled in ice hockey, golf and tennis. He was captain of the 2015 Kenmore East hockey team that won the State Championship. His contributions that year included scoring five goals against Williamsville East in the Section VI Championship Game and the overtime-winning goal in the State Championship game versus Skaneateles.
That’s also the season he was selected as New York State Player of the Year, State Tournament Most Valuable Player and 1st Team All-Federation.
He was recognized by Sports Illustrated in their "Faces in the Crowd" for his accomplishments. By the end of his hockey career at Ken East, Pray had scored 29 goals and 31 assists in 60 regular season games.
In addition to hockey, Pray was a top player and captain of the golf team and played first doubles for the tennis team. In his senior year he was selected as a Niagara Frontier League First Team All-Star along with his doubles partner and hockey teammate AJ Marinelli.
"It is an honor to join the many other athletes who have been inducted into the Kenton Athletic Hall of Fame. Thank you to my friends, family and everyone else who supported me throughout my playing career,” said Pray.
Pray now helps out as assistant coach of Kenmore East Varsity Hockey.
Here in Tonawanda, Pray is the head coach of the 7, 8, 9 boys soccer team. He has been a teacher at Tonawanda Middle School since the 2022-23 school year, and we are so proud he is part of our team.
